Today I give my life to God, to guide.
1. Father,
today I place all my thoughts in Your Hands.
²I do not want to keep a single one of mine.
³Give me Yours instead.
⁴I also place all my actions in Your Hands,
that I may do Your Will,
rather than pursue unreachable goals
and waste my time on vain illusions.
⁵Today I come to You.
⁶I will step back and simply follow You.I
⁷Be the Guide,
and let me be the follower who does not question the wisdom of the Infinite
nor the Love whose tenderness I cannot even comprehend,
but which is, nevertheless,
the perfect gift You give to me.
2. Today we are guided by one Guide.
²And we will give this day to Him without reserve as we walk together.
³This is His day.
⁴And therefore it is a day of countless gifts and boundless grace for us.
I Why do you make life complicated for yourself? Do you believe you can solve on your own the thousand complications of the world? You know well that you cannot, yet you try because you think you are alone and that everything depends on you. Do not fall into that trap—it is not so.
What happens is that you rush ahead and do not pause to listen to the answer that is already there, radiant before you. Your eyes remain closed only because you have not realized that you can open them at any moment, simply by wanting to.
Jesus speaks to us in these lessons about the goal, not because we are presumed to have reached it, but precisely because we have not yet arrived. They are constant reminders of where to place your attention and your will. If throughout the day you say these words with sincerity, it is impossible for your day not to improve dramatically. They center you, align you, and remind you what it is you truly want.
All that is asked of you is a little willingness and an open mind to the possibility that there exists a Help that does not come from you. Invite It to take part in your life and rely on It for all your problems. That Help is only waiting for your acceptance.
Do not make life complicated for yourself. You are not alone. Open your mind and heart to a Love you cannot even imagine, and trust that, by following your Guide, you are learning how to be truly happy.
