I am not a body. I am free. For I remain as God created me.
1. W-193 «All things are lessons God would have me learn».
²A lesson is a miracle God offers me in place of the thoughts I made that hurt me.
³What I learn from Him becomes the way I am set free.I
⁴That is why I choose to learn His lessons and forget my own.
⁴I am not a body.
⁵I am free.
⁶For I remain as God created me.
I This lesson is one of the most powerful in theCourse, for it completely redefines the way you see your life. There are no mistakes, no real obstacles—only opportunities to learn what you truly need to remember. Every situation, even (and especially) the uncomfortable ones, is a lesson God offers you to free you from your old ideas.
But learning does not have to hurt. The effort you experience is not inherent to learning, but to your resistance to change. It is like pedaling a perfectly tuned bicycle while pressing hard on the brakes—you move forward, yes, but with unnecessary strain. The same happens with your mind. The road is smooth, the direction clear, yet you insist on braking with your own beliefs, your rigid identities, your fears.
This lesson invites you to something simple and profound: to release the brakes. To abandon the inner struggle and allow learning to happen naturally. For everything that seems to challenge you is nothing but a call to stop resisting—to let change reach you. And when you do, you discover that moving forward requires no sacrifice, only honesty. A willing mind learns effortlessly.
Life is constantly inviting me to change.
My God! How much I am learning!
How much I am changing!
I no longer recognize myself.
Now I am once again Who I have always been.
