My true Identity resides in You.
1. Father, I made an image of myself, I
and that is what I have called the Son of God.
²But Creation remains just as it always was, for Your Creation is unchangeable.
³I do not wish to worship idols.
⁴I am the One my Father loves.
⁵His Holiness remains the Light of Heaven and the Love of God.
⁶How could what You love not be safe?
⁷Is not the Light of Heaven infinite?
⁸How could my true identity be anything but Your Son,
when You created everything that is?
2. Now we are one in a shared Identity, for God, our Father, is our only Source, and everything created is part of us.
²And so we bless all things and join in Love with all the world, which our forgiveness has made one with us.
I You certainly have a precise idea of yourself. If someone you meet for the first time asks who you are, you will probably begin to tell them a number of things about yourself that you remember from your past. You might speak of your abilities, your work, your tastes, your relationships, your fears, or your desires.
All of these are stories about yourself that you not only tell others, but also repeat to yourself—and, moreover, believe. You may think you are being honest and sincere, and that everything you say is true, but the only thing that is truly certain is that it is true only for you.
These beliefs form the arguments with which you try to prove that you are right, but what does it mean to be right?
Think about it: you only have what you can give, and your beliefs cannot be shared, for they are nothing but illusions. You can present them, you can imagine that others share them with you, and perhaps they believe it too, but that is no more than appearance.
Each person constructs their own beliefs about you, different from yours and therefore equally illusory.
The image you have of yourself is an illusion, so do not attach importance to it. Since in this world you cannot walk without some kind of identity, think of it as a costume you wear to play a part. It makes no difference which one—it is equally false and changeable. Wear them without taking them seriously, as disguises that in no way affect your real being. For you are the Son of God—holy, pure, limitless, and eternal.
Very soon you will be invited to put on a new “costume,” very different from those you have worn until now: that of holiness. That one truly fits you, for it reflects what you really are.
Father, my true identity is in You, and today I wish to cast off every disguise to clothe myself in Your holiness.
