I will not be afraid of Love today.
1. If I could understand just this today, the whole world would be saved.I
²For it is the choice to abandon madness and accept myself as God—my Father and my Source—created me.
³It is the decision to remain no longer asleep, lost in dreams of death, while Truth abides forever in the joy of Life.
⁴And it is the choice to acknowledge the Self God created as the Son He loves, which remains my only Reality.
2. Father,
Your Name is Love,
so is mine.
²This is the truth.
³How could the truth be changed just by calling it another name?
⁴The name of fear is but a mistake.
⁵Let me not be afraid of the truth today.
I Fear, guilt, sin, or worry are nothing but different forms of suffering. You can call them by many names, but deep down they are all the same: ways of making your life bitter. What for?
Each time your heart tightens, recognize the sign: you are misusing your mind and telling yourself things that are not true. That is the voice of the ego, which with a thousand reasons will try to convince you that your suffering is justified. Never believe it. If it hurts, it is a lie. The Course says it very clearly: you have to choose between being right or being happy. And every time you are “right,” it is always your ego that is right, never you. You have no reasons; you are the Truth.
Do not fear or suffer for anything, least of all for love. Do not be afraid of losing your identity by loving. It is true that when you love you will lose all your “reasons,” but those reasons belonged to the ego and are worthless. You do not need to protect yourself from love, because love is the only thing that can never hurt you. Love is the boundless giving of your being; it is your true life, and the closest thing you can do in this dream to what in Heaven is creation.
Love. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in love, for that is His specialty. Do not try to control it or analyze it. Trust. Jesus walks beside you, accompanies you, loves you, and protects you beyond anything you can imagine.
Father, today I will not be afraid of Love, for in loving all things I discover that in You I can lose nothing.
