LESSON 226

My home awaits me. I go swiftly to it.

1. I can leave this world entirely if I so choose.

²Not through death, but by changing my mind about its purpose.

³If I believe the world has value as I see it now, so it will remain for me.

⁴But if I give no value to the world I behold, and see in it nothing I wish to possess nor any goal I long to reach, then that world will slip away from me.I

⁵For I will not have sought to replace truth with illusions.

2. Father,

my home awaits my joyful return.

²Your Arms are open,

and I hear Your Voice.

³What need have I to linger in a place of idle wishes and frustrated dreams,

when I can reach Heaven so easily?

I The world is the alternative to Heaven. Heaven or world: you must choose; you cannot have both.

In truth, you want Heaven—that is evident—but you try to find it in the world, and that is impossible precisely because the world is the substitute for Heaven.

You seek peace and love, which are heavenly attributes, but you seek them in fleeting things, where they cannot be found. The very act of seeking them is a firm declaration of a false identity: that of one who perceives himself as “someone who seeks peace and love because he does not have them.”

Stop seeking and find. Stop telling yourself that you are not what you are, and begin to affirm the truth of your Being.

Do not seek Heaven in the world; use the world to go to It.

My home awaits me. I hasten to it.

I leave behind dreams and return to Your Peace, Father.
