I am not a body. I am free. For I remain as God created me.
1. W-188 “The Peace of God is shining in me now.”
²I will be still, and let the earth be still with me.
³And in that stillness we will find the Peace of God.
⁴It is within my heart, bearing witness to God Himself.I
⁴I am not a body.
⁵I am free.
⁶For I remain as God created me.
I This phrase may seem out of reach when you’re overwhelmed with tasks, tension, or fatigue. But it isn’t about feeling divine illumination at every moment—it’s something much simpler: learning to pause.
To seek, even for an instant, something that resembles peace. A moment of stillness while washing the dishes. A pause as you look out the window. A conscious sigh. The form doesn’t matter. What matters is the gesture: that humble desire for peace, the willingness to make room for it, to remember it.
For when you call it forth—even for a second—you are already affirming that it is still there, that it has not left you, that it remains yours. And sometimes, that is enough… for now.
In the Peace of God I lose myself,
and in the Peace of God I find myself.
