This day belongs to Love. I will not be afraid today.
1. Father,
today I would have all things be as You created them,
and honor Your Sons as they deserve,
with love from brother to brother and from friend to friend.
²Through this I am redeemed.
³And through this shall truth replace illusions,
light replace all darkness,
and Your Son know that he is as You created him.
2. A special blessing comes to us today from Him Who is our Father.
²Give this day to Him, and you will have no fear today, for you have given it to Love.I
I To love and to fear are antithetical concepts that cannot coexist in your mind. “Perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18). One need not be an evangelist to see it: when you truly love, you do not know fear; and when you feel fear, it is because you are not loving.
To honor your brothers, to honor Creation, is nothing more than learning to see them as they truly are. And that means seeing them with the Vision of Christ. To achieve this you need not perform great feats; something very simple is enough: respect. The word “respect” comes from the Latin re-specere, meaning “to look twice,” that is, to look attentively. In that attentive gaze, free of haste and prejudice, true wisdom is born.
Respect everything you perceive. Do not stain anything with rash interpretations. Everything around you is pure in itself and is there for you to honor, to learn from, and to love—not to judge and criticize. Respect opens the door to love. And love casts out all fear.
Open your eyes and look at your brother, but truly look—without filters. If you do so with all your heart, you will be unable not to love him. And in doing so, you will be honoring the Son of God, your Father, and yourself.
The lesson proclaims: This day belongs to Love. Today I will not be afraid. That is the simplest and surest formula: when you decide to dedicate your day to Love, fear disappears. For the two cannot coexist.
The love of one brother for another is the path of redemption. By treating each person as a brother and a friend, you not only honor them but also redeem yourself. Truth takes the place of illusions, light replaces darkness, and trust replaces fear.
Jesus reminds us that to love is the remedy for fear. Fear is the root of our bitterness and confusion; but every time we choose to love, we free ourselves from it. The small effort of looking with respect and tenderness at every being brings as its reward the absence of fear—and with it, the peace we so deeply long for.
Father, I dedicate this day to Your Love.
May everything I see be as You created it, and may I find my peace in honoring my brothers.
Amen.
