LESSON 229

I am the Love that created me.

1. I search for my own identity, and I find it in these words:

²I am the Love that created me.

³I need search no more.

⁴Love has prevailed.

⁵It has waited with such quiet patience for my return home that I will no longer stray from the holy Face of Christ.

⁶And everything I behold bears witness to the truth of the identity I thought I had lost, but which my Father has kept safe for me.

2. Father,

I thank You for what I am.

²I thank You for keeping my identity untouched and perfect,

amid all the thoughts of sin my foolish mind imagined.

³And I thank You, too, for saving me from them.I

⁴Amen.

I From what else would I need salvation if not from my own demented thoughts? What, apart from my thoughts, could affect me? And yet, can those thoughts alter my true identity, which God created holy?

I have but one enemy, and it is none other than the false idea I hold of myself. Today I acknowledge that I must have been mistaken, for I am not happy. And if I am not happy, it means I am believing something that is not true.

Today I will cease to trust in my own judgment and will open my mind to the truth. I renounce defending a fragile and limited image of myself, and I accept recognizing myself as the Love that created me. That is the identity I cannot lose, the one that has remained intact in the Mind of God, waiting for me to accept it. When I recognize myself as Love, all seeking ends, for I discover that what I longed for was already within me, safe, forever.

I am the Love that created me.

In You, Father, what I am remains forever the same.
